St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School

TO PROTECT WITH LOVE, ALL OF GOD’S GIFTS

About Us

St. Joseph's is a thriving and joyful Catholic Primary School which serves BD5 in central Bradford. We are proud to be a School of Sanctuary welcoming children and their families from all over the World. 43 different languages are spoken by children attending our school and the rich diversity is a strength of our Community and Parish. We are very fortunate to be on the same site as St. Joseph's Church and each week a different KS2 class attends Mass. The whole school attends Mass at the beginning and end of every term and on feast days.

St. Joseph's is part of the Blessed Christopher Wharton Catholic Academy Trust which means that we work closely with other Catholic schools in the Bradford area. This gives our pupils and teachers opportunities to connect with other schools and attend shared events. In 2022, the school took part in both swimming and cross-country running competitions - even taking home a trophy for Year 5 and 6. Working in partnership with other schools strengthens the faith offer we can provide as we join with other school for Liturgies, Good Shepherd Masses and for Pupil Led Collective Worship.

Our School is organised into four phases: EYFS, KS1, Lower KS2 and Upper KS2. Each phase has a phase leader - please look on the phase page for more details about how each part of the school is organised. Mrs Tolson is the Headteacher and Mrs Kelby is our Deputy Head in addition to being Upper KS2 Phase lead. Mrs Oljanuk is our Parental Support Worker. All adults in the school will be happy to answer any questions you have and the school office is always there to support you and your family.
